By · CommentsFor the first time in Santa Clarita’s history, a sitting Mayor was unseated in a city council election!
Congratulations to all of you who worked so hard to make this happen.
This is exactly the work we sat out to do two years ago when we put down our protest signs and began doing the real work of rebuilding our community!
Congratulations to all of you!
Vote April 10th – No excuses!
By · CommentsIf you have not already voted, then we are asking you to make the time to GO TO YOUR POLLING PLACE and vote for Bob Kellar and TimBen Boydston for Santa Clarita City Council. There is still time to make a difference in this election. The last city council election was decided by 33 votes! As this election is predicted to be a close vote, every single vote counts. We are personally asking you to make sure you cast your vote. The number one reason people give on election day for not voting is that they don’t know where their polling place is located. Take 2 minutes, right now, and find yours at http://www.lavote.net/locator/.
We know that you care deeply about our community and the future for your children and grand children. Do not skip this election. Make time tomorrow to VOTE for Bob Kellar and TimBen Boydston!
Here are a few reasons why SCV Patriots support Bob Kellar:
- Bob has done an outstanding job on our city council and is often recognized as the last remaining council member really listening to the will of our people.
- He is the ONLY council member who has not benefited from the $60,000 (and counting) G&L Realty has quietly spread to every other council campaign in order to dumb down their votes on our still unexpanded hospital.
- He is the only council member who voted against a near tripling of campaign contribution limits from $360 to $1,000.
- He has refused to play ball with the Republican Party “insiders” who continue to stack our local elections and manipulate the voice of local conservatives.
These positions have created a tough fight for Bob this year. But despite the petty antics of other council members (including Frank Ferry’s self-nomination for Mayor next year -supported by the remaining council- in order to bypass Bob in the usual rotation), Bob has maintained a respectful and professional demeanor with an unwavering focus on the issues that matter to the taxpaying citizens of Santa Clarita. He has refused to let the bully tactics and tit-for-tat politics infiltrate his decision-making. Imagine if all of our government leaders respected our people as much!
Here are a few reasons why SCV Patriots support TimBen Boydston:
- TimBen has proven that he really cares about our community and is ready and willing to fight for the people of our community.
- TimBen has a 12 point plan that clearly articulates his vision for the city.
- TimBen’s endorsement list is not only long, it includes all sides of the political spectrum and he is endorsed by organizations that I trust.
- Our city desperately needs a second voice on the council that will ask hard questions and not just provide a rubber-stamp of approval.
Even The-Signal’s “endorsement” of Laurie Ender is, in my opinion, really an endorsement of TimBen. I encourage you to read it for yourself.
“TimBen Boydston has impressed The Signal Editorial Board as a more well-informed and statesmanlike candidate than the appointee we saw serving out Cameron Smyth’s term after he moved up to the Assembly in 2006. Boydston’s priorities involve better planning the community’s growth, especially roads; listening to and respecting constituents; and locating a new Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station in the center of the city, among others.”
Please join us in encouraging everyone you know to take the time to cast a vote for the candidates who will fight to bring about the prosperity of Santa Clarita – Vote for Bob Kellar and TimBen Boydston!
